Subdivision Process
Changes in existing lot lines for the purpose of transferring ownership of some portion of an existing parcel of land is a subdivision and must be accomplished in accordance with the Township’s Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) requirements.
The procedures to submit plans to the Township are described in the Township Code of Ordinances Chapter 22. The process of getting a plan approved can take between 3 to 6 months, depending upon the complexities of the project. An accurate survey of the property is required.
Combining existing lots or tracts of land – often referred to as a "Reverse Subdivision" must also obtain approval in accordance with the Township regulations. If only property lines change, with no improvements to the land, this transfer is considered a “Minor Subdivision”. Consult Chapter 22 for information on this process.
